The Histories of Maltby
Local history is so important - and in the age of technology, there is no better way to immortalise it then via a documentary. This documentary shall cover the many histories of my hometown of Maltby.
The Milk Jug: Sheffield During the Blitz
During the Second World War, the Thoday family lent their milk jug to their neighbour - that same night, the house was bombed, and the heirloom only survived because it was being borrowed. Milk Jug will tell the story of Sheffield during the Blitz, recalling the stories of those who were present and the items that survived. I will answer the question: how did a city in Yorkshire, so needed by the British and so loathed by the Germans, carry on after two nights of terror?
The Battle of George Square
In January 1919, tanks were sent onto the streets of Glasgow. A strike had turned desperate; protesters overwhelmed the police; the government feared a British Bolshevik revolution, But how much of what we are told is actually true?
Remembering the Strike
My biggest project yet - and possibly ever. Aiming for a 2024 release.
Forty years later, the effects of the Miners' Strike are still felt by all mining communities. The most bitter industrial dispute in British history, Remembering the Strike recalls the events that unfolded, tackling the monumental task of using voices from all communities affected. This project is unique because it will cover stories from across the nation untold before, including those from outside the mining industry, and offer an insight into how the strike still - and will continue - to affect the country.
